VISIT ROZET // THE HERITAGE CENTER – MUSEUMS IN ARNHEM
For a visit to Rozet and the Heritage Center you have to go to the Rozetgebouw in the center of Arnhem. The Rozet building is definitely worth a visit during your stay in Arnhem. The building is free to enter and a social hub for many Arnhem residents. At level -1 you will find the heritage center. It may not look open, but try the entrance and you’ll see it’s (probably) open. The heritage center tells the story of Arnhem. The small free museum is full of information about Arnhem’s rich history and present.
Make sure to go to the top of the Rozet building as well. When the weather is nice, the large roof terrace is open and you have a beautiful view over Arnhem.

Museum Arnhem has recently reopened! Museum Arnhem is a museum for modern art, contemporary art, applied art and design in the Dutch city of Arnhem, with an emphasis on 20th century art. The museum was founded in 1856.
In 2021 the museum celebrated its 100th anniversary. To celebrate this, several beautiful murals have been painted in Arnhem. Murals of works on display in the museum. A gift to the city!

Museum Arnhem is the museum for (inter)national modern and contemporary art and design with a focus on the city of Arnhem. The high-quality collection contains realistic art from the 20th century, contemporary jewelery and design, with extra attention to non-Western art and work by female artists.
Visit the Eusebius Church – Museums in Arnhem
Visit the Eusebius Church in Arnhem and you will experience something really special! The Eusebius Church has dominated the skyline of the city of Arnhem for more than five centuries and tells the history of the Gelderland capital from the Middle Ages to the Second World War and the reconstruction. The Eusebius Church is both historic and contemporary and is often used for various activities and events.
Discover the historical artifacts, the famous Strumphler organ in the beautiful church hall and return to the year 1000 in the crypts. The unique panoramic lift takes you past one of Europe’s largest and heaviest carillons up to 73 meters high, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Arnhem and its surroundings.
Recently, the church has added 2 glass balconies 60 meters high so that visitors can enjoy the beautiful Disney characters outside the church walls. It’s not for the faint of heart! Those who dare are in for an extraordinary experience.
Visit the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum – Museums in Arnhem
The Dutch Open Air Museum in Arnhem records the history of the Netherlands in authentic buildings, objects and true stories. It takes you on a journey through time, from two centuries ago to very recently. The people in the houses of the museum seem to have run away from the past. Proud of their heritage, they will inspire you with their stories.
Don’t forget to make a stop at the 17th century bakery in the Zaanse part of the park. You will probably come out with a nice piece of butter cake, arretjescake or sausage roll!
On weekends and holidays you can participate in workshops and the museum is a popular outing for an educational school trip. Foreign guests also know how to find and appreciate this museum.
Visit Burgers’ Zoo – Museums in Arnhem
A great place to visit while in Arnhem is Burgers’ Zoo. On March 31, 1913, Faisanterie Buitenlust, the predecessor of the current modern animal park Burgers’ Zoo, opens its doors to the public for the first time. Since its foundation by Johan Burgers, the park has always remained a real family business.
Koningklijk Burgers’ Zoo covers 45 hectares and is one of the largest zoos in the country. Not only can you see animals outside, but the zoo also builds beautiful enclosures so that animals can live in their ‘natural’ habitat. Check out the ‘Ocean’, ‘Desert’, ‘Bush’ and the newest addition, the ‘Mangrove’ building.
Visit the Dutch Wine Museum – Museums in Arnhem

Discover, taste and enjoy! The Dutch Wine Museum is open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visit the Dutch Water Museum – Museums in Arnhem
In 1998, mr. H. van Brink created the idea for an information center on water, this later became the Dutch Water Museum. The Begijnenmolen, which has been located on the St. Jansbeek in Arnhem since 1404 and is a monumental attraction in Park Sonsbeek, seemed a suitable location for this.
The dilapidated mill was in urgent need of a major renovation. But just as the refurbishment got out of hand, the idea of the information center was born.
Van Brink noted that ‘there was no museum about fresh water throughout the Netherlands’ and soon a permanent exhibition was discussed. With the help of others, the idea quickly grew into the Dutch Water Museum.
“Clean, safe and sufficient water is not self-evident. Every day we work hard in the Netherlands to protect our country against flooding and to keep the freshwater supply in order. That does not happen by itself and affects us all.
That is why I think it is important that the water awareness of the Dutch person is increased – whether it concerns the risk of living below sea level or the value of economical water use. The Dutch Water Museum also contributes to this.

Visit the Arnhem War Museum ’40/’45 – Museums in Arnhem
The Arnhem War Museum ’40/’45 first opened its doors to the public on 27 May 1994. What once started as a hobby, has now taken shape in a unique museum, both locally and regionally. At various places in the world war museums are located in which collections are housed that are aimed at specific periods or specific events of that time.
The Arnhem War Museum gives not only a general overview especially as accurate a picture as possible of what’s all happened in Arnhem area during the war. The purpose of this private museum is to keep the memory of this important episode in the history alive and to preserve a unique collection for posterity.
The collection was made possible by individuals who are in possession of unique materials. The museum regularly receives donations of such materials and articles from people who want their donation is exhibited with love and care for a wide audience.
These donations contribute to the survival of the museum and to increase knowledge about the war at all ages.
Visit Out of Ammo – Museums in Arnhem
A new museum has recently opened in Arnhem called ‘Out of Ammo! You may have missed this because the museum about the occupation of Arnhem during ww2 that can be found in the Walburgiskerk has quietly opened. The real opening will take place on September 1, but now you can already visit this beautiful museum.

Visit Airborn Museum ‘Hartenstein’ – Museums in Arnhem
As a knowledge center, the Airborne Museum tells the story of the Battle of Arnhem. It is a clear and qualitative total concept, developed from a multi-perspective. One of the main goals of the museum is to make the story of the Battle of Arnhem personal and tangible.
Airborne Museum Hartenstein is a center for commemoration, a place where national and international visitors can learn more about the battle of Arnhem and the important role of this battle in the Second World War.
Near the Airborne Museum you will find the WWII war cemetery with graves of mostly young soldiers who gave their lives for our freedom.

Visit Airborne at the Bridge – Museums in Arnhem
With the phenomenal view of the world famous John Frost Bridge, museum Airborne at the Bridge tells its visitors the personal stories of British Lieutenant John Grayburn, German Hauptsturmführer Viktor Eberhard Gräbner and Dutch Captain Jacob Groenewoud who fought and died here during the battle of Arnhem in Sep 1944.
Airborne at the Bridge is free to visit. You can also buy a discount card for the Airborne Museum ‘Hartenstein’ in Oosterbeek here too.
Visit Museum Bronbeek – Museums in Arnhem
Bronbeek Museum highlights colonial national history. The central focus is on the influence of the government on colonial society and the actions of the Royal Dutch East Indies Army (KNIL).
Twice a month the group Kusumo Budoyo plays the gamelan. You can attend these public rehearsals on Sundays. Ask in advance about the current date via (026) 376 35 55.

Rolls Royce Museum Arnhem
Visit this beautiful museum with over 200 historic vehicles, but don’t forget to make an appointment online. The Rolls Royce museum is not open by default.
Mountainbike Museum Arnhem
This is also a special museum that not many people know exists. In the Mountain Bike Museum you can find a lot of mountain bikes and memorabilia. You do not need to make an appointment to visit this museum.
Trolleybus Museum Arnhem
The only Trolleybus Museum in the Netherlands can be found in Arnhem! Anything that has to do with a trolleybus, you will find it in this museum. This museum is open every Thursday afternoon between 13:00 and 17:00 and is free to enter.
