Pasar Malam at Burgers Zoo
Yes, it’s that time of year again. No, I’m not talking about Christmas, I’m talking about the annual Pasar Malam at Brugers’ Zoo!
The zoo in Arnhem is open as usual from 9am to 5pm but the Bush area stays open until 8pm. Even better, when you enter the park at 3pm or later the entrance fee only costs €10 instead of the normal €22 for adults and €19 for children.
TIP: Buy your tickets to Burgers’ Zoo online for extra discount.
Perfect Holiday Event – Pasar Malam at Burgers Zoo
Visiting the Pasar Malam at Burgers’ Zoo is a perfect holiday event. The Indonesian fair will remain in the park until January 7th. Though the park is open on December 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st and January 1st, it closes on 5pm. On these dates, there’s no Pasar Malam.
Take your friends and family with you and bring an empty belly. There is lots of delicious food available at the park restaurant in the Bush (where the Pasar Malam is held) and at little stands that sell traditional Indonesian food such as spring rolls, saté, spekkoek, baked bananas and other yummy treats.
Indonesian Entertainment – Pasar Malam at Burgers Zoo
…But there is more than just nice food. At the Pasar Malam you’ll also find Indonesian entertainment with live music, Indonesian dances and other performances at the Bush restaurant and near the stands.
It’s also possible to take a look ‘behind the scenes’ at elephants, zebra’s, giraffe’s and Ocean exhibits to get a closer look at the animals and learn more about what it takes to take care of these animals. In the Desert area, you’ll find a stand that serves hot choco, glühwein and oliebollen.
Belize in Arnhem – Pasar Malam at Burgers Zoo
In July 2017 Burgers’ Zoo opened a little piece of Belize in Arnhem. Well, it’s more than a little! The 3000m2 large Mangrove is now home to multiple Atlantic horseshoe crab, goat crabs, green sword carriers, four-eyed fish, Caribbean manatees and hundreds of butterflies. You do need a keen eye to spot all of them. Take your time to search the whole Mangrove and I promise that once you see one animal, you’ll see many more!
Make sure to also visit the other animals. Our favourites are meercats (total posers), the cheetahs, loins and safari area. Not to mention the Ocean and Desert areas.
We hope you’ll visit the Pasar Malam at Burgers’ Zoo the upcoming weeks. Many thanks to Burgers’ Zoo for donating the tickets, AND for providing such an amazing zoo in Arnhem.
