Are you looking for a new lunch spot in Arnhem? We have a recommendation you definitely won’t want to miss. Proefiz recently opened on Koningstraat, and naturally, we went to check it out ourselves. Spoiler alert: we’d love to come back.
A wonderful addition to Arnhem city centre.
Anyone who regularly walks along Koningstraat has likely already spotted Proefiz. Although the lunchroom has only recently opened, it already feels like a place that truly belongs in Arnhem’s city center.
Koningstraat has become increasingly lively in recent years, and Proefiz fits right in. It is a lovely spot to take a break while shopping, meet up with friends, or simply enjoy a good lunch at a leisurely pace.
From Zwolle to Arnhem
Proefiz is no stranger to the scene. The lunch concept has been around since 2013, having started in Zwolle. Quality has been central from the very beginning: fresh lunch dishes, excellent coffee, and welcoming service. Proefiz also boasts an outstanding reputation when it comes to coffee; the concept has repeatedly featured in the Netherlands’ “Coffee Top 100″—a wonderful acknowledgment of the attention they devote to quality and flavor.
Now, Proefiz has opened a location in Arnhem as well, and we are secretly quite pleased about it.
Our experience at Proefiz
We sat down for lunch and were immediately impressed. The sandwiches are generously filled, freshly prepared, and—above all—incredibly delicious. Another major plus is that, for many of the sandwiches, you can choose between a small or a regular portion.
That might seem like a minor detail, but it is ideal for people with a smaller appetite. You get to enjoy the same delicious sandwich without having to finish a huge portion. Of course, you can simply opt for the regular size if you’re hungry.
The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is friendly, and you can tell that genuine attention is paid to the guests.
A smart tip: the Morning Deal
Will you be in the city center in the morning? Then the Morning Deal is definitely worth checking out. If you order a pastry, you get a free hot drink to go with it—and yes, that includes a delicious cup of coffee. We’ve already tested this deal ourselves, and let me tell you: the red velvet cake is absolutely to die for! We’ll be back soon to try another pastry—maybe the carrot cake?
