Festival “De Luie Hond – Winter Edition”
You might already know about “De Luie Hond” festival that brought some reggae vibes to Stadsblokken Meijnerswijk in 2015 and 2016. This year for the 1st time there is also a winter edition. This time it’s an indoor event (at the Paintballworld location, also in Meijnerswijk) but it has all the same ingredients apart from the fact that it’s about 30 degrees colder and they now serve glühwein and hot coco.
Today (Friday January 27th) is the opening day of the festival, and ArnhemLife actually hosted it’s 1st Instagram meetup! “De Luie Hond” provided us with some nice prosecco and snacks and a small group of Instagrammers met and shared stories about some of the photo’s in their account. It was great to meet some of the people behind the profiles, so to those who showed up: Thanks for making the effort!
Better Dress Up Warm
Although today was a not so cold winters day, the festival venue was still quite cold. Fair enough, we where there right when it started so the venue wasn’t warm yet, but the heaters were on so i’m sure the temperature will rise soon. It was very nice to drink some hot coco sitting near a heater. Extra warm socks and gloves are still a very good idea. You’ll thank me later, i’m sure…
Selection Of Food-Trucks
There is a great selection of (10) food-trucks for you to choose from! To name a few:
Babo Coffee bar
The Beef Chief
Fun fact about Haute Dog: On March 1st they will open an hot dog restaurant in Arnhem at the location of the former Proeflokaal (Spijkerstraat 3). Haute Dog is still looking for fulltime and parttime employees so when you are looking for a job in Arnhem, don’t hesitate to send your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org
Music, DJ and Silent Disco
So, you don’t have to only sit down, eat and drink. There is also loads of dancing to do! And I suggest you do, it’s the fastest way to get the cold out of your body. During the day a DJ will play some tunes and at night the Beatbusters, Roots Rising or Funkstamatics will live perform for you. Next to this, there is also a Silent Disco. You can find it next to the entrance of the festival. Fun times guaranteed!!
